برنامج قادة الغد للمنح الدراسية

برنامج قادة الغد للمنح الدراسية هو واحدة من مبادرات الشراكة الشرق أوسطية لطلاب سنة التخرج من المدارس الثانوية المؤهلين والمحفزين بشكل كبير، في الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا، والذين أتوا من خلفيات محرومة من الخدمات. وسوف يقدِّم برنامج قادة الغد للمنح الدراسية منحاً دراسية جامعية مدتها أربع سنوات وفرص تدريب ميداني في مؤسسات تعليم عالي مختارة في الشرق الأوسط لطلاب لديهم الإمكانيات لكي  يصبحوا قادة.

ويضم الطلاب المؤهلون رجالاً ونساء يمثلون التنوع الثقافي والديني والجغرافي للمنطقة، وهم من خلفيات أقل حظاً اجتماعياً واقتصادياً، والذين يمكنهم أن يحصلوا على قبول في جامعة لمدة أربع سنوات بطريقة أخرى، ولكنهم غير قادرين على تحمل التكاليف. وينبغي إعداد المستفيدين من برنامج قادة الغد للمنح الدراسية لكي يبدأوا البرنامج في دورة خريف عام 2013.

إن الهدف الرئيسي لبرنامج قادة الغد للمنح الدراسية التابع لمبادرة الشراكة الشرق أوسطية هو بناء كادر من قادة في سن الجامعة يؤمنون بالصالح العام، ومقتدرين فكرياً وماهرين مهنياً والذين سوف يصبحون في المستقبل قادة المجتمع والأعمال التجارية وقادة قوميين. ويهدف البرنامج إلى تنمية المهارات القيادية وروح المشاركة المدنية والعمل التطوعي بين طلاب متفوقين في عمر الجامعة في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، والجامعة الأميركية في القاهرة، والجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية. وسوف ينضم الطلاب المختارون إلى قادة الغد الـ 93 الذين يدرسون أصلاً في هذه الجامعات.

ويمكن للمستفيدين من المنح الدراسية متابعة الدراسة للحصول على درجة البكالوريوس في حقول دراسية مختارة في واحدة من المؤسسات المضيفة الثلاث. إضافة إلى دراستهم، سيكون من المتوقع أن ينخرط المستفيدون من المنح في أنشطة خدمة مجتمع وأن يشاركوا في تدريبات ميدانية.

وتشتمل المشاركة في البرنامج على: السفر والرسوم الأكاديمية لمدة أربع سنوات جامعية في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، أو الجامعة الأميركية في القاهرة، أو الجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية، وتجربة الدراسة في الخارج، في الولايات المتحدة، وتأمين ضد الحوادث والمرض، والسكن، ومصروف شهري.

Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Program in Algeria
The U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and AMIDEAST are pleased to announce this year’s recruitment for the Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Program. The Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Program is a MEPI initiative for capable and highly motivated high school seniors in the Middle East and North Africa who are from underserved backgrounds. The program will provide four-year university scholarships and internship opportunities at select institutions of higher learning in the Middle East to students who have the potential to become leaders. Eligible students include men and women who represent the region’s cultural, religious, and geographic diversity and are from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, which could otherwise gain admission to, but would be unable to afford, four years of college. Tomorrow’s Leaders scholarship recipients should be prepared to begin the program in the fall 2013 term. The primary objective of MEPI’s Tomorrow’s Leaders scholarship program is to build a cadre of university-age leaders who are civic-minded, intellectually able, and professionally skilled, who will become the community, business, and national leaders of the future. The program intends to nurture leadership skills and the spirit of civic engagement and volunteerism among outstanding university-age students at the American University of Beirut, the American University in Cairo, and the Lebanese American University. Selected students will join the 93 Tomorrow’s Leaders already studying at these universities. Scholarship recipients may pursue an eligible undergraduate degree in a selected field at one of the three host institutions. In addition to their studies, recipients will be expected to engage in community service activities and participate in internships. Participation in the program includes: travel, academic fees for four years of university at American University of Beirut, American University of Cairo, or Lebanese American University, a study abroad experience in the U.S., accident and sickness insurance, housing, and a monthly allowance during the school year.
Eligibility:
 Current high school senior or applicant who graduated from high school in
2012;
 A citizen or, national of Algeria and those qualified to hold a valid Algerian
passport;
 Strong academic credentials;
 Proficiency in written and spoken English with a minimum Institutional TOEFL
(ITP) score of 525 (or equivalent on a similar test) that is less than two years
old;
 Maturity, flexibility and leadership potential;
 Ability to start the program in August/September of 2013.
